In this workshop, we'll explore how to incorporate culturally responsive teaching strategies into middle school math instruction. By recognizing the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our students, we can create an inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and empowered to succeed in math. Through hands-on activities and discussion, you’ll learn how to incorporate culturally relevant examples, activities, and real-world connections that make math more relatable and meaningful. The workshop will focus on building student engagement through culturally responsive practices, emphasizing the importance of considering cultural perspectives in problem-solving, classroom interactions, and the overall learning experience. By the end of this session, you’ll walk away with practical tools and ideas for integrating cultural awareness into your math instruction, ultimately fostering a deeper connection between students and the content.
