Meet Dr. James Brickwedde

These three days look at how elementary students develop their mathematical understanding and how the eight instructional practices and the Mathematics Teaching Framework work to foster a student-centered environment. We will use the Cognitively Guided Instruction (CGI) developmental frameworks for number operations, algebraic thinking, and fractions and decimals as a base as we look at student work samples and videos. These days are particularly targeted at instructional coaches, curriculum leaders, intervention staff along with classroom teachers who pull everything together.
