We are delighted to invite you to the Minnesota Council of Teachers of Mathematics (MCTM) Spring Conference 2026, a dynamic gathering focused on exploring current ideas and innovations in mathematics education.
This year’s theme:

Kicking off the conference will be Dr. Anton Treuer, Bemidji State University Professor of Ojibwe and author of many books, during Friday's opening session. Integrating Indigenous Perspectives into K-12 Mathematics:
Training with Anton Treuer
Session Description:
Join esteemed Ojibwe scholar and educator Anton Treuer for an interactive training designed for Minnesota’s K–12 math educators, principals, coaches, specialists, and instructional leaders. This session will deepen your understanding of Minnesota’s Indigenous communities, histories, and local places, while guiding your team to take practical first steps toward weaving these perspectives into math instruction. Together, we will explore ways to create mathematics learning experiences that honor Indigenous knowledge, build cultural relevance, and inspire student engagement.
WHERE: Duluth, DECC on Harbor Side
COST: 1-4 participants $230 per person, after 4 registrations from the same district/group, the next 5 or more participants are at $185. One free administrator registration for every four 4 registrations.
Limit of 10 registrations per district

The MN Math Leaders Group has its own page on the MCTM website. More information will be coming to this page soon. Did you know it is FREE to join this group? Find the link to join the group on this page and please share with others. We are on a mission to have at least one person from all 500+ MN school districts connected to this group.
As a reminder, the MN Math Leader group has monthly PLC meetings on the 3rd Tuesday (from 12:30-2:30 p.m) and 3rd Thursday’s (from 4-6 p.m.). This group is open to all MN Math teachers and district leaders. November’s PLC dates are November 19th and 21st.

Call For Nominations to the MCTM Board of Directors

Do you want to get more involved with leadership in math education in MN? Do you know someone who would bring valuable experience to the MCTM Board of Directors? Nominations are open for five positions for the next MCTM Board election.
The Board needs a diverse representation of MCTM membership to serve the Minnesota mathematics community. Help the Nominations and Elections Committee identify talented, energetic individuals to work on the mission of MCTM. The Board election is held in February with newly elected Board members beginning a three-year term at the Spring conference April 24, 2026.

Remembering a Mathematics Leader Jack Burrill was a Presidential Award winner in Mathematics, a distinguished Wisconsin mathematics educator, mathematics researcher, and contributor to curriculum projects and publications. MCTM sends condolences to his wife, Gail Burrill, a frequent and honored MCTM Spring Conference presenter and member.
